Statement of Significance

An attractive if typical example of the work of architect Crouch and Wilson, this church, erected in 1870-73, is notable for its colourful bichromatic brick exterior, dominated by a corner tower with bellcast eaves and by a five-light decorated Gothic window. The interior has a gallery (originally on three sides) with cast iron balustrading, and there is a pipe organ by Robert McKenzie of 1874, subsequently rebuilt.
