Statement of Significance

The former Munro Primary School is historically and socially significant at a local level as one of the last remaining public buildings in the township, and for its association with the ongoing struggle to keep a school operating in the area. A school has operated from a private residence in the area since the closure of this school approximately two years ago. The row of pines planted on the school site was established as a memorial of the First World War, and is also of some local historic and social significance. The complex is a typical example of a rural timber school complex dating from the early part of this century.
