Statement of Significance

The Reedy Creek Station was first taken up in 1850. The group of buildings which make up the homestead complex consists of early slab buildings with bark roofs together with later framed weather-boarded additions, all grouped on the high bank of the creek and surrounded by handsome elms.
Newspaper linings are still to be seen in the schoolhouse (believed to have been the second house to be erected) are dated 1864. It is known that the third was built in sections with major work completed by 1889.
The first house has been relocated from below the creek bank and is believed to have been reduced in size, at that time. The buildings are remarkably intact and the outbuildings and family graveyard are included in the Classification.
