Statement of Significance

A symmetrical group of three two-storey shops designed for C. A. Grainer, draper, by Andrew Keer in the typical Italianate Renaissance style with arch-headed windows and roof balustrading with central pediment. The middle shop No 188 was erected in 1879. No 190 was added in 1883 and No 186 in 1884. A verandah originally linked the three shop fronts but has been partially demolished.
