Statement of Significance

A shire hall of 1892 designed by the shire engineer, J d'A Moynan, in a conservative mid-Victorian "Modern Gothic" style and although symmetrical in recognition of its public function, picturesque in its Tudor gable and parapet profile, machicolated or dentillated eaves to the window bays, steep chamfer-stopped openings, and fretted timber Gothic Verndah.
