Statement of Significance

A face brick hotel which derives from Romanesque architecture, designed in 1903 by the prolific commercial architects, H W & F B Tompkins, and is of interest for its corner siting, the remnants of the oriel, and the gabled bays to each face. The verandah has been removed, the roof reclad and the conical spire removed, but the openings are surprisingly intact.
