Statement of Significance

A most substantial house built in 1865 for a successful mining entrepeneur, in local ragstone with a facade of Malmsbury bluestone, the whole being in splended condition, with a fine iron gate and palisade fence, unusual timber fretwork verandah arches and a charming turned timber balustrade, internal window shutters, timber slatted Venetian blinds, and at the rear an underground water tank and pump intact.
