Statement of Significance

A particularly handsome and complete sandstone church c 1876-7 designed by Frederick Wyatt in the Early English style. The interior is intact with a fine trussed timber roof, painted texts and stain glass windows. Of these, the earlier were imported from Brussels and many of the others, from 1881 onwards were by Ferguson and Urie of Melbourne.

Former Iron Church
Statement of Significance: The remains of an iron church measuring approxinately 14 X 8.5 metres which was erected for the Church of England in 1855, including a square tower with a bell-cast spire which was blown down in the 1870s. The building ceased to be used for worship in 1877 and was subsequently removed to the present site. Indentifiable surviving elements include one of the pointed windows.
