Statement of Significance

Former Carlsruhe Common School 115 built in 1871. Architect Jamison. Bluestone and lighter stone quoins.The school replaced an earlier one, destroyed by fires. A time capsule was buried under the foundation stone. The school operated until untio 1935, reopened in 1947 and finally closed in 1952. It was also used as a social centre for the district and for many years the Anglican church held its services in the building.
