Statement of Significance

A terrace of single storey houses of 1878-9 designed by Joseph Watts of Geelong for the proprietors of the Barwon Paper Mills, and important as the earliest known surviving example of company housing in Victoria. This function is reflected in the unusual adoption of the terrace form in a rural area.
