Statement of Significance

A distinctive Bairnsdale residential group consisting of the house Wahroonga of 1882-3, designed by the local architect Thomas Swann, and the semi-detached pair Riversleigh of 1883-4, attributed to R T Vincent: the former is unusual in this setting for its urban character, and preserves its original cement finish unpainted, while the latter is interesting for its somewhat eccentric provincial eclectic style.
