Built about 1872 of bluestone quarried locally. Buildings include a barn, kitchen, men's quarters; smithyand woolshed. A wooden stable catered for a thoroughbred stud established in 1868 by the original owner, Henry Chalk. The stables feature unusual semi-circular windows. The continuity of design, materials and details contribute to the historical importance of the house. It is a dominant freature of the townscape and landscape.
