A simple corrugated iron building with one section flat roofed, the other a low-pitched gable. The building extends through to High Street at the rear. This large building was originally a saltworks erected in 1888 for James Shakell, a prominent Echuca businessman operating in the river trade days. For 33 years it was Campbell's Coach House, the largest coach house in Echuca. Later the building was used for office and storehouses for Evans Brothers Sawmills opposite, later Rowbottom's mills and for the last couple of years it has been a coach house museum.
