Statement of Significance

A prominent church of particular interest for its bizarre tower, which carries a corbelled brick balconette on each face and is surmounted by a disproportionately narrow slate-clad spire. This tower was added by the architect E J Henderson in 1890, to the original church of 1875-6 by T A Kelly, of red brick with freeestone dressings.
