Statement of Significance

The Warragul Butter Factory of 1936 and the Vermont Casein Factory of 1923 compromise the historic components of the current dairy industry complex. The physical incorporation of both buildings within the newer complex illustrate the takeover processes once so prevalent in the Victorian dairying industry. The size of the site and its location close to major transport routes creates a strong visual statement of the importance of dairying in the region.
