Statement of Significance

The first public water supply system reservoir in Victoria. Built in 1854 by John Davis of coursed rock-faced bluestone arches supporting a cast iron tank composed of bolted, flanged plates. Located originally on Eastern Hill. Dismantled in 1893 and re-erected at Werribee in 1894.
