Statement of Significance

The mosaic by Anne Graham at 266 High Street Prahran is significant at the Local level. This mosaic is an unusual early work of Anne Graham. The artist had not previously worked in mosaic but was persuaded to undertake the commission by an architect friend before she received the Italian Government Scholarship which allowed her to study mosaics in Italy. The commission is innovative for its unlikely siting in a suburban street of rather mixed buildings.
