John Boyd, mayor of South Melbourne was associated with his brother David, who was a well known estate agent, in the erection of this substantial 2 storey building. Completed in 1895 with the name Town Hall Chambers as the front facade, the building is in harmony and scale with the adjacent Nos. 204-206 Bank Street.
