St Peter's Vicarage, Mornington, is a single -story house built c. 1864, possibly to designs by Francis A. Gillett. The stuccoed structure has steeply pitched slate roofs with gables decorated with barge boards. There are prominent chimneys with splayed shafts, and the plinth & bay windows are other features.
St Peter's Vicarage is an early building notable as an example of the Picturesque Gothic style; for its realtionship to the Anglican church of St Peter and for its place in the townscape of Mornington. The house is an interesting and fairly typical example of a villa in the comparatively rare Picturesque Gothic style, a style of which there are several examples in the area. The vicarage is contemporary with the construction of the church and is part of the history of the early town of Mornington. St Peter's Vicarage is in good condition and reasonably intact.
