Statement of Significance

La Trobe Bateman's only known complete house. This picturesque house is virtually intact apart from minor interior modifications. Each major room is contained in a steeply pitched gable which enhances the Gothic-revival character of the house. The size and disposition of the rooms pre-dates current standards by almost a century.
The orginal timber dwelling was incorporated in the main house at a later date.
