Statement of Significance

The Glen Waverley Primary School, built in 1879 - 80, is of state architectural and historical significance as an early, relatively intact example of the large single room school built for the Education Department.
It is notable for the survival of its tiered seating, now the only surviving example in Victoria, and many of its original windows.
The school is also historically significant as the second oldesr building and earliest school building in Waverley.
