Since the property was first taken up in 1843 by William Pomeroy Greene the original structures have been continually extended, remodelled and improved on the same basic floor plan. Major building programmes appear to have been carried out in the 1860s, the 1920s and at present. The homestead consists of a hollow square, single-storeyed, timber building. The internal courtyard, is paved, landscaped and has a small aviary but is derelict as are major parts of the buildings. Two wings of the building date from the late 19th century. In the early 1920s the south and west wings were elaborately re-built in the style of the time and other areas were refurbished in detail with internal wood panelling and a granite buttressed external verandah. The earliest part of the building is probably the original kitchen in the south-east corner. The stables to the east consist of a south section which is shingled, thick walled structure set partly below ground level. It is probably the oldest building on the property. It was extended north to form a crude attractively symmetrical stable building, probably in the 1860s.
Additions1920 and subsequent are excluded.
