Statement of Significance

Church:
A substantial bluestone church designed by Leonard Terry and built in 1871-74, comprising a five-bay clerestoried nave with aisles, chancel and organ chamber but never completed with its intended tower and spire. The building is of interest for its lofty proportions and spacious interior including stained glass by Napier Waller and organ by William Anderson.
Classified: 09/03/1989

Organ:
A two-manual organ of 14 stops installed in 1896 thought to have been built by the Melbourne organ builder William Anderson for a previous location. The instrument remains largely unaltered, retaining its original action, pipework, tonal scheme and wind system, although the diapering of the facade pipes has been subsequently obliterated with paint. It is one of a handful of larger instruments by Anderson which has escaped alteration.
