Statement of Significance

A three storeyed monastery and school building which has all the traditional simplicity of Irish monastic establishments. It is the oldest Christian Brothers' School in Australia and the last survivor of the important early group of secondary schools on Eastern Hill. William Wardell and Leonard Terry provided designs for the building.
