Statement of Significance

An Italianate mansion designed by Charles Webb & Son with fine ornamental detailing in cement, including the dentillated cornice at first floor level and the pediment of the entrance bay, scroll-work keys to the loggia arches, and panels of impressed curvilinear decoration. The most distinctive internal feature is a square top-lit well surrounded by a balustraded gallery at first floor level, but the interior is generally simple, and the surviving decoration of Edwardian date.
