Tooradin Estate Homestead, Lynes Road, Tooradin, is a single storied house built for Thomas Lynes probably in the late 1880s. The area was first settled in the 1840s and Lynes acquired the property in 1887. The symmetrically planned house has an encircling verandah with a bullnose roof and central gabled porch. The house is constructed of brick with a slate roof. The details of the house are typical of its period.
Tooradin Estate Homestead is of note for its associations with the history of the district. The property was settled in the 1840s and in 1852 was taken up by Lyall (later of Harewood), Mickle and Bakerwell, who were pioneering settlers in the district. The present building represents the original Tooradin Estate and is also one of the few nineteenth century buildings in the area, an area which was difficult to settle due to its swampy nature. Architecturally, the homestead is a typical Boom style villa.
Tooradin Estate Homestead is believed to be reasonably intact and in fair to good condition.
