Statement of Significance

A fine group of vernacular timber buildings. Apart from the galvinised iron roof which has been fixed over the timber shingles, the buildings illustrate 19th century rural design and chock & log construction. The building methods include vertical slab construction and the later development, stud framework. The buildings and their setting present a rare combination of form and material in an unchanged environment. The forms are simple, strong and functional and the materials used were almost certainly obtained on or near the actual building site.
