Statement of Significance

A pair of two-storey manufacturer's shops built in 1891 and designed by the architect Norman Hitchcock who was known for his eclectic and exaggerated "classical" designs. This building is no exception. The building is of interest for the elaborate detailing of its rendered facade and as exemplars of the former manufacturing industry of the area.
