Statement of Significance

An unusually imposing and richly furnished church, built in 1882-3 to the design of George Wharton, completed to the designs of H W & F B Tomplins in 1907 through the completion of the nave and addition of transepts, chancel, organ-chamber and vestry, although without the projected tower and spire.
