Statement of Significance

The building has regional historical significance because of its extraordinary intact condition. Its form is precisely as shown in the 1881 plan, except for the recently removed front verandah. The major features seem authentic, except for the windows in the side walls of the front rooms, and the cement render of the west wall. Some of the features are of technical interest, and the Wallis stove, if it can be shown to be original, would be an exceptional surviving example.
