The Nurses Home is of local significance as an element of the original building groups on the Mont Park site constructed between 1913 and 1925 and contributes to the ability of the site to demonstrate the following; the response of Australian society to the care of war veterans; the changing responses to twentieth century health needs; changes in hospital design; a sequence of changing usage; an important link with the social effects of World Wars I and II and the provision of facilties for servicemen who were mentally ill or had tuberculosis; one of a significant collection of two storey freestanding Federation Freestryle buildings comprising an institutional complex.
