Statement of Significance

The Former Citadel Press building was erected in 1901 for the Salvation Army. The building formed part of the Training College complex. A well detailed brick building with render detail on a bluestone base designed in the Romanesque style. The round arched windows and engaged pilasters are accentuated by alternating use of brick and plaster. The central entrance is marked by a triangular pediment at the ground floor and another above the parapet. The building is a robust and well designed industrial building and is significant as part of the former Salvation Army complex.
