Statement of Significance

A two-storey bluestone former warehouse, built in 1853-54 for the entrepreneur Hugh Glass, and originally used by McClure Valentine and Company, wine and spirit merchants. It is one of the earliest remaining warehouses in the city and more architecturally pretentious than many of the gold-rush era.
