The early 20th century shop and the surrounding site to the title boundaries

How is it significant?
The shop is historically and aesthetically significant to the Shire of Nillumbik.

Why is it significant?
The shop is historically and aesthetically significant because it is the only conventional shop building in Panton Hill, is a good example of a basic shop from this period and an important part of the streetscape (Criteria B, E & D). The shop is historically significant because it demonstrates the 19th and early 20th century practice of constructing commercial buildings spread out along a main road (Criterion A).
