How is it significant?
The Lomond Hotel at 225 Nicholson Street, East Brunswick is of local historic, social and aesthetic significance to the City of Moreland.

Why is it significant?
Of historic and social significance as an intact and functioning part of Brunswick's collection of twenty three remaining hotels of the twenty four built between 1842 and 1890. They have been in continuous use since their construction and continue in this role today. These hotels are also of local social significance as important meeting places for Brunswick residents and workers, continuing to fulfill a vital community role. (AHC Criteria A.4 & G.1)

Of aesthetic significance as a fine and externally intact example of a late Victorian hotel. (AHC Criterion E.1)
