What is significant?
The entire bridge and the surrounding site to a radius of 10 metres.

How is it significant?
The timber trestle bridge is technically and historically significant to the Shire of Nillumbik.

Why is it significant?
The bridge is technically and historically significant because it illustrates a traditional bridge building technology once common in the former Shire of Eltham, but now rare. Unusually for such a bridge, the western end span is twice the width of the other two (Criteria D & B).
