REVISED STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE, CONTEXT, 2010 What is significant?
How is it significant?
Why is it significant?
The entire bridge and the surrounding site to a radius of 10 metres.
The timber trestle bridge is technically and historically significant to the Shire of Nillumbik.
The bridge is technically and historically significant because it illustrates a traditional bridge building technology once common in the former Shire of Eltham, but now rare. Unusually for such a bridge, the western end span is twice the width of the other two (Criteria D & B).
