LOCAL SIGNIFICANCE: The Jumbunna railway embankment is historically significant as a strong visual link to an era when the Colony of Victoria was developing coal resources to reduce its reliance on imports, and government was gradually expanding its railway network to service the fledgling coal mining industry.
