What is significant?
The former dairy/barn and shearing shed at 'Wongalee', 35 Bakers Road, Wonga.

Why is it significant?
The former dairy/barn and shearing shed at 'Wongalee' is of local historic and aesthetic significance to South Gippsland Shire.

Historically, it is associated with the selection and establishment of farms in the hill country of South Gippsland Shire during the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. Many similar buildings have been destroyed by bushfires and the significance of the place is enhanced by its rarity values as one of the few known pre-World War II farm buildings in the Shire. (Criteria A, Band D)

Architecturally, it is now rare example of an early rural farm outbuilding, which is notable for the original timber frame using locally milled and hand worked timbers that demonstrate vernacular building techniques. The significance of the place is enhanced by the rarity values as one of the few known surviving buildings of this type. (Criterion D)
