Statement of Significance

Built in 1914, the Upper Beaconsfield Post Office is significant to the Cardinia Shire as a major and early public building in one of the Shire's towns, as well as the oldest surviving purpose-built post office. The building is a local landmark and a rare building type in the shire. The post office is also a demonstration of design accomplishment, as qualified by the modest scale of the building.
