Statement of Significance

"Glenmire" at 29 St. Leonards Road, Ascot Vale, is presumed to have been built in 1885 for John Clark. It is aesthetically important. This importance (Criterion E) arises from its status as one of the larger Victorian villas in St. Leonards Road, its situation on high sloping ground enhancing its impact in the street. It is in other respects a representative house of its time.
