The Lawson’s Cypress tree located at the rear of the main weatherboard building on the site.

How is it significant?
This Lawson’s Cypress is significant for scientific (horticultural/ propagation source and Outstanding Example), Social (Location/ context/ Contemporary association)/historic (Historic Place) and Aesthetic (Attractive tree) reasons at the State level. 
Why is it significant?
This specimen of Lawson’s Cypress is in good condition and is comparable in height, canopy spread and trunk circumference of other registered trees. It is significant for its overall form and health and is a good example of the species, albeit with a multi trunked form. The tree is a source for propagation stock The tree is of local historic significance being located on the local Heritage site, the former Police Station (Heritage Overlay HO367 – No tree controls apply), however, there is no specific heritage citation noting the planting of the tree.
