This Silk Floss tree is of aesthetic and social significance as a better than average example of the species and for its contribution to its location in the historic Melbourne Royal botanic Gardens.
The Silk Floss tree species is also of scientific significant as a rarely cultivated species in Victoria, not represented in the Victorian Significant Tree Register prior to this nomination.
