Why is it significant?
This Ovens Wattle is scientifically significant for its horticultural value as an interesting and unique specimen with potential for propagation and to be grown commercially. The tree has an unusual and unique colouring of the phyllodes, ranging from green, yellow to red, sometimes appearing ombré. Abnormal growths and variegated forms can occasionally occur in Acacias, and this is a fine first representation of Acacia pravissima on the Register.
