This large Eucalyptus globulus (Blue Gum) located on a road verge at the corner of Londsdale Street and Thompson Street, Hamilton.

This Eucalyptus globulus is significant for scientific reasons and for its contribution to landscape at the Regional level.
Why is it significant?
This Eucalyptus globulus is outstanding for its size, with a height of 22m and spread of 25m and girth of 6.8m. The tree is in a prominent location at the main entrance to Hamilton and makes a significant contribution to the landscape of the town. It is the last remaining Blue Gum of a row planted along Lonsdale Street in 1880.
