What is significant?

A rare Eucalyptus x studleyensis (Studley Park Gum) located along the Alamein railway line, near the foot crossing to Ashburton Station in Ashburton. Close to boundary of Summerhill Park. The tree is in good health. Has had a branch fall off some time ago, exposing the tree to the potential of disease.

Why is it significant?

Eucalyptus x studleyensis (Studley Park Gum) is rare, with only other examples on register at Eaglemont Station, Eaglemont. This species is a hybrid, with early examples found at Studley Park in Kew. Endemic to Victoria this species is listed an endangered. It is a good example of the species.
