Why is it significant?

These twelve (12) Ficus macrophylla (Moreton Bay Fig) are significant for their size at an average of 15m height, circumference of 3.7m and canopy spread of 20m. All trees are approximately the same size, with the exception of the north-west corner where the trees are more closely planted and somewhat suppressed. These trees are a fantastic old planning of Moreton Bay Figs in a heritage garden setting. They makes a significant contribution to this neighbourhood and historic garden in Lysterfield South. The property, 'Warren Park' was built sometime between 1848 and 1856, with an extension in 1966. Photographs of the property around 1968 show these Moreton Bay Figs as mature, and it is likely that it was planted around time the house was constructed in the 1850s. The property 'Warren Park' is included in the National Trust Heritage Register as File Only (B2211).
