The house at 376 Myers Street, East Geelong, has significance as an intact example of the interwar Californian Bungalow style. Built in 1928 for Raymond Phillips, accountant, the house appears to be in good condition when viewed from the street.

Other intact or appropriate qualities include the asymmetrical composition, single storey height, horizontal weatherboard wall cladding, red-painted and lapped galvanised corrugated iron roof cladding, wide eaves with exposed timber rafters, recessed central entrance with double timber doors having glazed upper panels, projecting bowed bays with timber framed double hung windows and vertical timber base panelling, decorative window leadlighting, gable infill (timber brackets, timber shingling, battening and panelling), and the square timber verandah columns on face brick piers with soldier course bands and concrete cappings. The front fence also contributes to the significance of the place.

The house at 376 Myers Street is historically significant at a LOCAL level. It is associated with residential developments in East Geelong during the interwar (1920s-1940s) period. In particular, this house has associations with Raymond Phillips, accountant and original owner who had it built in 1928.
