What is significant?

This Mountain ash is an impressive regrowth tree, thought to have be regenerated around 1905-1920 along the Sassafras Creek between Beagleys Bridge and Lyrebird Falls. It is one of a set of large regrowth trees in Victoria (T12342, T12343, T12344, T12345, T12346, T12347, T12348, T12349, T12351, T12356, T12357, T12358), along with a nearby Mountain ash of the same age (T12351).

This Mountain ash (Eucalyptus regnans) is significant for scientific reasons at State level.

Why is it significant?

This tree is outstanding for its size, with a height of 86.7m, spread of 10m and girth of 3.5. This tree is an outstanding example of the species as impressive regrowth tree despite being small in girth. The trunk of this tree forks at a height of 10m.
