Horticultural value

This Moreton Bay Fig (Ficus macrophylla) is thought to date to approximately 1878 and is horticulturally significant. The tree was originally planted closed to the house but was moved in 1939 when workers on the nearby channel project dragged it to its present location. It is and outstanding and unusual example of a mature tree that was transplanted and survived a further 60+ years.
