Statement of Significance

A striking Wesleyan church of Hawthorn brick with red brick banding, designed by Alfred Dunn. Built in 1888-9 it is of interest for its recessed facade flanked by twin towers, the larger - to the left - with bell cast slate spire. A non-projecting transept, with four-light window, is placed to the north. A powerful and boldly massed design showing the imaginative use of brickwork and roof forms.
